Reserve Bank of India has issued new 100 rupee denomination currency note under the same Mahatma Gandhi 2005 series with a new security feature in numbering pattern.

Barring the First three alphanumeric characters, the size of which remains the same, from left to right all the six numerals are in ascending size. This security feature is being added to differentiate counterfeit notes from the genuine, making it easy for the common man.

Previous 100 rupee notes, already available, shall also remain legal tender, notifies RBI.

Through reliable source it is learnt that RBI has plan to extend these security features of new numerical pattern, in other denominations in a phased manner.
