An ambitious deadline has been set by Mr. Narendra Modi, of starting the bullet train on August 15, 2022. This dream will be soon come true in 2022 and if Indian Railways have its ownways then you might get to travel on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train even in less than 5 years. An unbelievable speed, the bullet train is expected to cover the distance of 534 km in just 2 hours instead of 7 hours.

The Japenese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has laid this foundation for initializing the project of bullet train in India. Moreover, he has expressed a hope that he might have the good fortune of enjoying the beautiful places of India while travelling in the bullet train as soon as when he comes back to India.

This project has been started taking the Japenese loan of Rs. 88,000 crore and the cost of this project is around Rs. 1.1 lakh crore. This project was conceived over 10 years ago on paper but it has taken up speed only three years ago as the UPA government was not sure about the project’s cost as it is considered too expensive.

Government is trying to accomplish this high-speed rail project as soon as possible and mainly it is aiming to coincide the completion date with the 75 years of India’s Independence. It has been also indicated by PM that the fares might be within the reach of a common man.
