Government is going to change the decades old practice at airport relating to ‘Boarding Passes’ and ‘Baggage Tags’. Till now Boarding Passes are in paper form and a portion of it is removed and taken back at airport. This is done to have a proper and exact count and details of passengers even after the flight takes off.
Now this will be done by electronic Boarding Passes instead of paper Boarding Passes. It is expected that electronic Boarding Passes at Airport will be mandatory within a month time. At some Airports electronic Boarding Passes are being already accepted.
Same will be the fate of Cabin Luggage Tags. CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) has also agreed for the removal of paper Cabin Luggage Tags. CISF has the responsibility to guard the Airports in India.
