Use of Agro-machinery is need of the hour to increase output of agricultural based products. But the only hindrance in using the agro based machinery is that the land holding in India is reducing day by day. This is because of division of families from joint to nuclear. Indian Economy is more based on agriculture since ages. Traditional agriculture is dependent on natural resources and weather like monsoon.

But if high-tech mechanism is to be used in agriculture, small holdings of land will not give desired results. It is advisable to use resources in a big way along with large piece of land if economies of large scale is to be achieved.

India’s needs to consolidate land holding and to move towards. It is not necessary to own agriculture machinery to get the fruits of agriculture mechanization. Yet if machinery is available on lease, it can be better utilized while spending small amount of rent for it.  Sometimes farmers do not possess all the instruments of production like land, Labour, capital, machineries in right proportions to cultivate the agriculture land to get fruitful yields from the agriculture. The consolidation of farmland will resolve this problem of fewer resources and enhance the productivity from agriculture land.

A group of farmers can make a co-operative or Self Help Groups to reap the results of land consolidation and high-tech machinery for better results of high yield and low cost.

There is a need to innovate custom service or a rental model for high cost machinery or agriculture equipments such as combine harvester, sugarcane harvester, paddy tans-planter and other irrigation structures to reduce the burden of farmers of making investment to get these machineries.

The Economic survey 2018 also emphasized the need of consolidation of farm land and said that the Indian farmers were adapting modern techniques of farm mechanization at a faster rate in comparison to previous years which is to be further encouraged.
