JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar met FM Arun Jaitly and this has triggered discussion about chances of GST getting through in Monsoon Session of parliament in 2016. Although Nitish Kumar and JD (U) have been supporting GST since UPA’s period of power. Nitish Kumar’s step towards government on this bill despite all odds in mutual relations has thrown a wave of hope for the government, PM and FM.
So now government seems to focus on other regional parties like Mamta Banerjee’s TMC and Jai Lalita’s AIADMK to get further support to pass GST. With this move of JDU, congress seems to be isolated as the regional parties are in a mood to support the government in lieu of heavy packages for their respective states.
